This cemetery has not had any
regular care in some time and is in poor shape. What remains was
overtaken by the forest quite some time ago. At the time I visited the cemetery
during June 1997 the cemetery area was not marked by any type of sign, nor any obvious
fence. There did appear to be an old cart path heading south from the burial
area.
There were about half a dozen
burial monument stone bases with no data on them. These remaining monument
stone bases appear to have been knocked around and it is not likely they are
over the original graves anymore.
I did find one stone base with the
surname SEWARD on it. On another burial monument there were three given names
with some information, but no surnames. The monument material of the 'Seward'
base and the monument material from the stone with only the given names
appeared to have been the same color and type of rock. I was not able to
determine if these separate monument parts went together. The given names and
dates were:
Charles, died 28 February 1901, age
8 years 10 months 6 days
Caroline, died 10 April 1860, age
28 days
