This cemetery has not had any regular care in some time and is in poor shape.  What remains was overtaken by the forest quite some time ago. At the time I visited the cemetery during June 1997 the cemetery area was not marked by any type of sign, nor any obvious fence. There did appear to be an old cart path heading south from the burial area.

There were about half a dozen burial monument stone bases with no data on them. These remaining monument stone bases appear to have been knocked around and it is not likely they are over the original graves anymore.

I did find one stone base with the surname SEWARD on it. On another burial monument there were three given names with some information, but no surnames. The monument material of the 'Seward' base and the monument material from the stone with only the given names appeared to have been the same color and type of rock. I was not able to determine if these separate monument parts went together. The given names and dates were:

Charles, died 28 February 1901, age 8 years 10 months 6 days

S. Anderson, died 10 October 1859, age 2 years 3 months

Caroline, died 10 April 1860, age 28 days

In "History of Dakota County and the city of Hastings, ..." by Rev. Edward D. Neill, written in 1881, he wrote '... In July, 1868, one acre of land was given by Samuel Osborn to the trustees of the Presbyterian church for a cemetery. The grounds are pleasantly located on a hill-side in the south-east quarter of section 25, ... The body of Miss Ada Bacon was laid here first in 1859, before the land was formerly devoted to its present use. The officers of the Presbyterian church, act as officers of the cemetery. (page 417).'

The Dakota county cemetery records compilation lists this cemetery as: Farmington Presbyterian Cemetery, established 1868. 1 acre. Section 25, SE1/4. Akin Road and Eve's Way. On hill behind houses on Eve's Way. (Abandoned)

Update:  On February 18, 2003 this cemeteries name was changed to Middle Creek Historic Cemetery.
