This cemetery has regular care and is in fair shape. During the 1980’s or 1990’s this cemetery was restored by a private group. The group cleaned and straightened the cemetery; added a cement memorial wall, decorative shrubs, and sitting benches. The memorial wall is inscribed with - 'In Loving Memory of Anna C. Steiner and Andrew C. Steiner - Memory of Jerry Stangret, Jillian Rose Bachmeier, and Robert C. Berger 1938-1993.'

In ‘History of the Minnesota Valley - including the Explorers and Pioneers of Minnesota’, by Rev. Edward D. Neill, written in 1882, the following is written: ‘A cemetery on section 8 was established in 1862, and the first burial therein was Theresa Vokenant, daughter of Jacob Volkenant, who located on section 7 in 1856. She died in 1863.’

In ‘Compendium of History and Biography of Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota’, written in 1919, it states: ‘In 1862 a cemetery was established on section 8, a mile and a half west of Swan Lake, and near schoolhouse No. 43.’

This cemeteries burial monuments were transcribed during the spring of 1998.
