This small cemetery has regular care and is in great shape. The cemetery is located at the intersection of West 1st Street and Nininger Road (Dakota County Road 42) northeast of Hastings, Minnesota. Lakeside Cemetery is across Nininger Road from Veterans Cemetery. This triangular shaped cemetery is enclosed by a five foot black iron fence. Over the cemetery's entry is a sign that reads: 'Soldiers and Sailors Cemetery - 1905 - Peller Post 89 Grand Army of the Republic. There is no indication of a cemetery sign for Veterans Cemetery.'

The Dakota county cemetery compilation lists this cemetery as: Veterans Cemetery (formerly Old Soldiers-Peller Post G.A.R. 89). Purchased 24 June 1905. 1003 feet, 11 inches (1/2 acre). Located SW1/4 of Section 21. Nininger Road. Granite Monument set up 28 May 1907, per order of Peller Post G.A.R. 89.
